Image of three amplifiers from different series: PLD Series, DPA Series, CXD Series

Amplifier Navigator software enables a user to remotely control and monitor all functions of connected CXD, PLD, or DPA Series amplifiers including the on-board DSP functionality and amplifier configuration.  It also provides a mechanism to create, store, and recall presets and loudspeaker profiles to and from the PC or Mac.

Upload profiles to connected amplifiers, enabling "cloning" for multi-function racks with duplicate amps.  Amplifier Navigator V2.0 provides firmware management - if you connect one or more amplifiers to a computer running Amp Navigator it will update your firmware to the latest release.  Future versions will provide additional functionality

QSC has tested and qualified two USB extenders using CAT-6 cabling for use when updating amplifier firmware. The two USB extenders are:

  • Icron 1-port USB 2.0 Ranger 2201. Reliable to 300 feet (91.4 Meters).
  • SIIG USB 2.0 4-Port Extender (JU-EX0111-S1). Reliable under 50 feet (15.2 Meters).

  • If a firmware update to an amplifier fails two times, reset the amplifier by unplugging from the power source, restarting Amplifier Navigator, and try again.
  • If the firmware update is successful but the amplifier does not come back online, reset the amplifier by turning the power off then on. The amplifier will come back on with the correct firmware version.

DPA amplifier Preset library files created with 1.3.3 or later need to be renamed to work correctly in Amplifier Navigator. The extension should be changed from “.plf” to “.DPA.plf”. For example, a preset library file called “MyPresets.plf” containing presets from a DPA amplifier should be renamed “MyPresets.DPA.plf”.
